The First Convocation of NID Haryana was held on the 26th November 2022. Graduating students of batch 2020 and 2021 were conferred Bachelor of Design degree.
The Chief Guest Sh. Anurag Jain, Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India congratulated all the graduating students and delivered the Convocation address. He inspired the graduating students to design addressing National and Global issues, be part of Start‐up India initiative and establish Unicorns in design domain. He commented that world is looking at India as a beacon of hope, as with the power of young India and technological power the country looks at challenges as opportunities.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, Governing Council Chairperson, Joint Secretary DPIIT in his address congratulated all graduating students and encouraged them to Design for India and focus on innovation, adopting technologies along with retaining cultural and indigenous craft components.
Dr. Vanita Ahuja, Director, NID Haryana presented the academic report. It was reported how the young institute established in 2016 had taken great strides in academics, outreach, consultancy and research. During the Ceremony students were awarded Convocation Awards including ‘Academic Excellence Award’ and ‘Best Graduation Project awards’.

Convocation was accompanied by a Design Exhibition of students work. NID Haryana had invited school students of 10‐12 grades from schools of Kurukshetra to attend the event with respective Principals and a teacher. Students also interacted with the Chief Guest and saw the exhibition.
