Surabhi has had experience of Academic and Industrial work as a Designer and Design Educator. Starting off with her Bachelor of Architecture from IPSA College, Rajkot Gujarat, she went on to do Post graduation in Design from NID, she is currently pursuing Phd in Design from Ansal University.
As a design Educator, she has worked as Assistant Professor. During this course she undertook design studio projects, studies of form, user interface, elements of Design, also conducted masters in interior design courses. She was instrumental in initiating academic collaboration between product design, SSD and Industrial design with School of Architecture and Design, in King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thonburi, Thailand.
She also conducted Design and Education sessions for play, learning and creativity courses at Ambedkar University. She has worked as a design consultant for Ellis Mensinga (ex museum curator), Holland, Board game design for early learning (Mumbai) and designer for Khel Manthan under a project with NGO SIRDI. Under design Clinic scheme MSME project, she worked for design awareness programe for Madhubani paper mache craft cluster, She has been hailed as Designer and Education workshop specialist throughout her work. Among many workshops she undertook sessions on – ‘’Learning from toy design, Elements of tectile game design (Ambedkar University)’’ She conducted Indo Thai workshop on global local culture based design (KMUTT) workshop on Toys for integrated, inclusive education and development with inclusive educators, organized by NCERT, Delhi.
Besides these, She has been an invited mentor to international UNESCO creativity workshop on inclusive education and development, Her article titled ‘’A family with toy as teacher’’ was published by Families learning together magazine.
